The process is compression moulding, and the tooling for it is cut in the same workshop that moulds the part. That combination is what this page is about — it is unusual, and it changes what can be quoted.

How does a project run?

  1. Send a drawing, a sample or a description

    A technical drawing is ideal. A physical part works just as well, and so does a clear description of what it has to do and where it sits.

  2. Material and method are assessed

    Which compound suits the application, and whether compression moulding is the right route for the geometry and the volume.

  3. Tooling cost and a price per piece

    Two figures, quoted together: what the mould costs once, and what each part costs after that.

  4. Sample approval, then series production

    Nothing goes into a production run until you have held a part from the actual mould and agreed it is right.

Why bring this to us?

Tooling is cut in-house

Most rubber shops send mould-making out. Cutting it in the same building that moulds the part takes cost out of the tool, shortens a revision from weeks to days, and is the reason a short run can be priced at all.

The compound is mixed there too

Much of the industry buys ready-mixed rubber. Mixing it on site means hardness and resistance can be set against your application rather than accepted as delivered.

What do those two facts add up to?

Because the tooling is cut in the same workshop that moulds the part, and the compound is mixed there as well, we can quote runs that larger moulders decline. Tell us the quantity you actually need, not the quantity a factory told you was the minimum.

Which materials are available?

Four families, chosen against what the part meets in service: oil, weather, heat, abrasion.

NBR
Oils and fuels. The usual choice where a part meets a lubricant.
EPDM
Weather, ozone and heat. The opposite trade-off to NBR — it does not tolerate petroleum oils.
SBR
General purpose, mechanically sound, where the environment is mild and cost decides.
Natural rubber
Natural rubber, for resilience and tear resistance where oil is not present.

How many, and how big?

Quantity

There is no fixed minimum. Tooling cost is the deciding factor, and it is amortised over your order — so a high-value part can be viable at low volume. Tell us your quantity and we will tell you honestly whether it works.

Size

Tooling is made for each project, so part size is not fixed by an existing mould inventory. Send the drawing or the sample.

This is a project conversation rather than a catalogue order, so the form asks different questions from the parts enquiry. Nothing here commits you to anything.

Frequently asked questions

What information do you need to quote a custom part?
The geometry, the material requirement and roughly how many you need a year. A drawing gives all three at once; a sample plus a sentence about the application gives most of it. If you have neither, describe what the part does and where it sits and we will tell you what else we need.
Do you make the mould, or do I supply it?
It comes from us. Tooling is cut in the same workshop that moulds the part, which is what keeps the tool cost down and a revision quick. If you already own a mould, tell us its condition and dimensions and we will say whether it can be used.
What is the minimum order quantity?
There is no fixed minimum. The tooling cost is what decides viability, and it is spread across your order — so a high-value part can work at a quantity that a general moulder would refuse. Send us the quantity you actually need and you will get a straight answer.
Which materials can you work with?
NBR, EPDM, SBR and natural rubber. The compound is mixed on site, so within those families hardness and resistance are set against your application rather than taken as delivered. Anything outside them, ask and we will answer plainly.
Can you work from a physical sample instead of a drawing?
Yes, and it is common. A sample carries the geometry directly and often answers questions a drawing leaves open. Send it with a note on what the part does, what it sits against and what it is exposed to.
Do you produce consumer or food-contact products?
We currently supply industrial rubber components. Consumer and food-contact applications require material certifications we do not hold today — if your project needs them, tell us and we will say clearly whether we can serve it.
