Dimensional data is not published. Manufacturing tolerances vary between production batches, and a fixed published figure that a shipment later disagrees with is worse than no figure at all. Fitment is confirmed by Type and stroke, and by the OEM number stamped on your chamber.

WABCO manufacture air brake systems rather than vehicles — their numbers are catalogue references used across multiple vehicle makes.

How does this part work?

The diaphragm sits between the two halves of the service brake chamber. When the driver applies the brake, compressed air fills the chamber on one side of the diaphragm; the diaphragm deflects and drives the push rod out, which rotates the slack adjuster and applies the foundation brake. Releasing the pedal vents the air and the return spring pushes the diaphragm back. A Type 14 diaphragm presents 14 square inches of effective area to that air pressure, which is what determines the output force of the chamber.

How air brake chamber diaphragms work

Why Viaforta?

  • Our own rubber formulation

The rubber mix is prepared at the production facility rather than bought in ready-made. Most competitors buy pre-mixed compound; controlling the mix is a real and checkable technical advantage.

Test before you commit. You pay only the shipping.

  • Every size from one source

Type 9 through Type 36, normal and long stroke, from a single supplier and a single set of documents.

  • Made in Türkiye

Manufactured at our production partner's facility in Istanbul, Türkiye.

Frequently asked questions

Which brake chambers does VF-14LS fit?
It fits Type 14 long stroke service brake chambers. Confirm by the Type marking on the chamber body, or by matching the OEM number stamped on the chamber against the cross-reference table above.
Can I use a normal stroke diaphragm in a long stroke chamber?
No. Long stroke chambers need the deeper diaphragm profile to reach full travel. Fitting a normal stroke diaphragm reduces available stroke and can cause the brake to run out of adjustment. The two are not interchangeable in either direction.
What material is used?
Fabric-reinforced rubber, blended to a formulation of our own rather than purchased pre-mixed. The reinforcing fabric is what carries the pressure load and stops the rubber stretching under repeated cycling.
Do you publish dimensions?
No. Manufacturing tolerances vary between production batches, and publishing a fixed figure that a later shipment disagrees with is worse than publishing none. Fitment is identified by Type and stroke, and confirmed against the OEM number.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Order quantities are agreed per order and small trial quantities are accepted. Request a quote with your part number and quantity and you will get a firm answer within 24 hours.
Can I get a sample before ordering?
Yes — up to 10 pieces free of charge, with shipping at your cost. This is the fastest way to evaluate the part.
